I, too, had a custom piece made by the dentist. I admit that it was a little bit more comfortable, but not $125 (my price with dental insurance) more comfortable. You will get used to the feel once you use it. Since using this product I have NEVER had it come out of my mouth, but that may reflect my own sleeping patterns/habits.In my opinion, for the money it's well worth it. Just trim the plastic (I have even used a bit of sand paper to file a rough edge) to fit your mouth more comfortably. And no, I don't work for the company. Truly am happy with the product and have been so for about 4 years. The usual lifespan for this product (in my experience) is about 6-8 months. Then again, this is relative to your situation. That was five years ago and I never did get that new one. I have to switch these out after about 6 - 8 months, but they are just as effective as the custom night guards at a fraction of the cost. |
