I visited a dentist that specializes in such, they offered to make a custom mouthguard for $500 (my insurance would not cover it). I decided to try an otc mouthguard first. First I tried an adjustable sleepright guard, which was so big it dug into my cheeks and I couldn't keep it in my mouth for more than an hour at a time. Then I bought this product, what a difference! These are slim and flexible with NO extra plastic. The plastic seems to make a perfect fit after warming to body temperature. On top of that, they are much, much cheaper than other otc mouthguards and disposable so I never have to worry about losing or ruining one. Wearing these retrained the way my jaw sits within a couple of weeks and seems to continue to get even better. I tried these for 2 weeks hoping for improvement,but they either came loose at night and I spit them out in my sleep. Or what was dangerous is that my jaws ground them into pieces and I almost gagged and choked on a piece. I quit using them after that. Sometimes saving money can threaten your life. |
