I was treated for TMJ about 20 years ago and have had several mouth guards that I've obtained from the dentist--they were always costly and didn't hold up that well. In searching for a more cost effective solution, I found the Dr Brux night guard for $49.99. I've had 2 of them and thought they were OK but I ended up "biting" through both of them. I searched again and found the Grind Guard by Archtek. For the price, I couldn't NOT try it. I found it was easy to mold/adjust, it fits well and it is really comfortable. I've been using it for about 6 weeks and it doesn't show any signs of wear and tear. This guard is great for people with a small mouth because I didn't have to cut this down at all like a lot of other guards, and it actually sits comfortable in your mouth all night without causing any pain to the jaw. I have found some of the bulky, expensive ones from the drugstores and stuff don't work, they actually make your jaw hurt worse and half the time they gag you or don't stay inside of your mouth while you're sleeping. When molded correctly, this guard fits tight to your teeth just like a retainer.
